Well today was a bit different.
Ellie woke and got us up soon after 7 o'clock (but that was no problem). She was her usual bouncy self and we tag-teamed her care for the first few hours.
The phone rang. It was John Lewis. Their trailer had broken down en route to the Sussex depot. Our new washing machine, due during this morning, still hadn't arrived at the depot. They would call back once things were clearer. The Gorse Fox thanked them and wondered if it would turn up today or not.
An architect arrived. (To be fair, he was expected - it wasn't just a random house call). The Gorse Fox explained the conundrum and showed him the plot and the parameters. He had printed some requirements and design diagrams to help. When he was in the middle of explaining that Two Hats and Tinkerbell may also wish to do a similar extension, Two Hats walked out into their garden. The Gorse Fox stood on a chair and called him over. A while later we had both sorted out our vision and the architect had come up with several sensible suggestions. We have further people to see, but the Gorse Fox feels quite comfortable with this chap. We will have to wait and see what his price estimates are.
Mid-afternoon John Lewis turned up and installed the new washing machine. The Gorse Fox was very impressed with their installation service. Neat, tidy, informed and professional. Once they had gone, the Gorse Fox (with help from Two Hats) put the existing utility area back together. The Silver Vixen hasn't tried the new washing as yet, but the Gorse Fox is sure it will get a thorough workout tomorrow.
Last thing this afternoon we took Ellie back home. Her brother Jake will be taking care of her until Pistol Pete gets back from work.
