At 3am, Jasper was yelling for his breakfast. Though on a timer, it wasn't due to open until 4:30am. I was not going to tolerate this badgering for 90 minutes, so I wandered downstairs to open his breakfast bowl. Somehow, I managed to go straight back to sleep and stayed in bed until 7:30.
I had the usual Zoom call with the cousins at 9:00. We had a good turnout, and everyone seemed particularly chirpy this morning.
Diane had planned to spend the day working on her latest sewing project. I went to the study and continued filing documents. I managed to add about 100 more statements and notifications covering gas and electricity supply over recent years. The document management system now has a critical mass of significant documents. I will continue to add more over the coming days... one subject at a time.
We only have a few weeks to go before we leave for a cruise. Today we were able to check-in so I sat and followed the process through until I received our boarding cards and luggage labels. The countdaown has truly started.
I set off for a walk. I manged a few loops of my usual roaute but as I apprached the end of our road, about to start another loop, it started to rain. Given how heavy the rain has been in the last day or two, I headed straight home, arriving just as the heavens opened. I settled down with my Kindle and finished another book I have now download and a new book, my 100th of the year.
