It was a lovely start to the day, again. This really has been a delightful Spring and Summer, but I fear we are likely to pay for it at some point in the near future. I had every intention of going for a long walk today. It didn't happen. I feel guilty.
I had two things on my mental agenda that would need to be addressed before the walk. The first was a discussion with Zoe regarding the options she has as her fixed-term mortgage expires and her "Help to Buy" loan starts to accrue interest. I laid it all out in a few paragraphs and squirted it into ChatGPT. I was very impressed with the data it returned and the clarifications it offered when I asked for further details. I printed it all and handed it to Zoe so we could discuss it. Then I ensured she had ChatGPT installed on her iPad and suggested she should rerun some of the queries with more up-to-date figures.
The other item on my mental agenda was to install the component in the document management system that allows it to handle email files and MS Word files. I mistakenly thought this would be quick. So far, it has taken all the rest of the day and is still not working. I am close to giving up.
(I did manage an hour with the Kindle during the early afternoon, but it was only because I needed a break from debugging).
