Sick

It was sub-zero overnight, for the first time this year. Ellie was dropped off at 7:20. She had had a disturbed night and had a slightly sore throat. She ate a good breakfast and after some Calpol headed off with the Gorse Fox for a day at school (not the Gorse Fox, you understand, he was just the bodyguard).

The morning went by in the usual Thursday whirl with Ocado delivering and then a trip to Sainsbury's. Lady Penelope came along with us as Old Bill wasn't feeling too great after his chemo treatment this week.

The Silver Vixen has developed some soreness where here watch strap sit on her wrist. The Gorse Fox suggested we get some inexpensive silicon straps and try one of the for a while. A pack of five straps arrived at lunchtime and we soon had the strap changed. She hasn't had any discomfort this afternoon, but we'll have to give it time before we can be sure it's a "cure".

Talking of cures, Urban-Cub was called by the school. Ellie had developed a high temperature, was shivering, and was clearly unwell. Urban-Cub collected her and managed to get in to the local surgery to have her checked. After the Scarlett Fever a few weeks ago and the current concern of Strep A infections, we cannot be too careful. She has been given a course of meds which will, hopefully, get her on the mend. It will probably be tomorrow, though, before we really see any improvement.

The Gorse Fox, unexpectedly, received an email from Apple this morning. Apparently his new iPhone has been dispatched and should arrive tomorrow. This was remarkable because even up until yesterday the app was forecast 13th-20th Dec.
