Lights

The Gorse Fox was up soon after 7:00. It had been cold overnight but the forecast suggested that it would be milder today, He had the usual call with the cousins. This included, for once, the widow of the cousin who was closest in age and whose Godfather had been the Gorse Fox's dad. She had just arrived in Australia after 26+ hour journey from Wheathampstead.

Once the call was over, the Gorse Fox moved the car out and dug the Christmas decorations out of storage in the garage and the loft. Lights were set up, the Christmas tree was erected, and the Silver Vixen was left to her own devices. There was nothing the Gorse Fox could do that wouldn't be undone and redone.

This afternoon we have enjoyed a couple of hours in front of the TV watching Croatia beat Morocco 2-1 in the third place playoffs for the 2022 World Cup. As far as the Gorse Fox was concerned, this was the ideal result. Hopefully, tomorrow's final will also finish in a win for the Gorse Fox's preferred team. (He really hates to put this on record, but he wants France to win - given that the alternative is cheating team from Argentina. Now that this is on record, he has no doubt that the opposite result will prevail.
