Not quite

We had a very lazy start to the day. The Gorse Fox didn't stir until nearly 8:00 - this is almost unprecedented. While he was making the coffee the Silver Vixen tottered down for some tea.

When we were finally ready to address the day we laid into the remaining Christmas cards.

The Silver Vixen dealt with her family and girlfriends and the Gorse Fox dealt with the neighbours and most of the virtual e-cards. After several hours, we were done. The Gorse Fox went and posted those cards that demand use of the postal service and later walked the local roads to hand deliver the cards for the neighbours. It was gloriously bright and crisp and an absolute pleasure to be out walking. It has been and remains so cold that the lake is frozen and looks wonderfully wintery.

Regular readers will know about the ongoing saga of the bathroom cabinet and its mirrors. We had finally been contacted by a supplier and they could provide the mirrors and their hinges, but the Gorse Fox would have to fit them. He paid the money and knew he would have to wait until this week for a delivery. Here we are six or eight weeks on and the delivery has taken place. New hinges have been supplied (or that's what the box says), and two new mirrors. The problem is (and you knew that there would be one, didn't you?) the mirrored doors are 600 x 604mm. So? Well they should be 1000 x 595mm. No amount of bodging by the Gorse Fox will hide that difference! The Gorse Fox contacted the supplier and, to be fair, they we immensely apologetic and have said they will resolve this and supply the correct doors - though it will be the New Year.

The Gorse Fox fears that tomorrow will see the decorations emerge from storage.
