Christmas Play

A stunningly good night's sleep for the Gorse Fox. It was a cloudless start to the day and the sun climbed above the houses in a very leisurely fashion. The Gorse Fox wandered round to meet up with Urban-Cub and Ellie and escort them to school. As clear as it was, it wasn't as cold as expected.

The morning was spent on admin while the Silver Vixen had a scheduled phonically with a girl friend. Once that was over and it was safe to make some background noise we started to move a lot of furniture. We had a chap coming this afternoon to clean our carpets... courtesy of Darren. Everything that could be lifted was put onto something else, everything that could be moved was moved into the family room or Orangery. Anything that was too big was just moved from its normal location.

This afternoon we had Ellie's Christmas Play. Years 1, 2 and 3 worked together to tell the Nativity story as if relating a tale around a campfire. It was very good and quite clever, working on a level that the kids understood and the adults would appreciate. Ellie was a gorgeous little angel. She really got stuck into the part, dancing and singing as part of the Heavenly Host. Unfortunately, the Gorse Fox was sitting in a spot that meant that Ellie was obscured for much of the performance but the Silver Vixen, Urban-Cub, and Pistol Pete could see her. She has another performance this evening, so she'll be shattered by the time she gets home.

When we got back, Craig turned up with his carpet cleaner. It was size of a Zamboni! He did a quick survey of what was needed then proceeded to do all of the carpets. He congratulated us on how clean they were but it was clear what a good job he had done - with all of Jasper's stains now memories. Excellent job, and certainly a chap we would use again. The carpets will take about 6 hours to dry fully, but we can walk on them with clean footwear until then.
