It was very cold overnight. Parts of the south were hit by snow, but we don't tolerate such things here on our bit of Coast. The roads and pavements, however, were very icy. The Gorse Fox wouldn't allow the Silver Vixen to go out alone, so took her for her morning appointment so that he could make sure she got there and back without any slips or upsets.
Ellie has recovered from her fever and infection and by the end of the weekend was back to her normal boisterous self. She was very eager to get to school and see what she had missed. We skated round to the school and dropped her off with her teacher.
A lot of the morning, once he had collected the Silver Vixen, was spent debating and reviewing the annual Christmas card lists. As usual, a few were weeded out, and the rest were categorised as Snd, Hand-deliver, or (new to this year) send an E-card. The postal disruption is such that where an electronic card is possible, then it will be the default. The Gorse Fox renewed his lapsed subscription to Jacqui Lawson cards and sent a couple of test cards to check that it was all functioning as required. It is really rather good.
This afternoon the Gorse Fox left the Silver Vixen indoors while he went to collect Ellie from school.Once home she did some reading with the Silver Vixen and some number sentences with the Gorse Fox. A chicken curry was the order of the day for dinner - and she demolished the lot.
Ellie is in the bath now and will be in bed by 7:00. She is staying with us overnight.
