We were meant to be looking after Ellie all day today. The Gorse Fox was up at the usual time, and the Silver Vixen soon followed. By 7:30 Urban-Cub was at the door with Ellie (who had only just woken up). The day had started as expected. During the morning Ellie played with here magnetic letters, her "Numicon" number games, her phonetic flash cards and had started on "Numbots". This was the sort of day that the Gorse Fox hoped would fill the sponge of Ellie's grey matter, ready for more tomorrow.
The Silver Vixen went off to get her hair done, leaving the Gorse Fox and Ellie to get up to mischief. It was while we were working on her Numbots that the phone rang. It was Urban-Cub. She had just tested positive for C-19 on a Lateral Flow Test. It was her second test of the day - the first one being negative. She had been feeling very unwell, so decided to take another. That was it.
Urban-Cub headed home to collect Ellie. As she had been exposed to Urban-Cub, she didn't want her to further risk infecting the Silver Vixen or Gorse Fox. The whole day changed. Urban-Cub headed off for a proper PCR test... and the Gorse Fox and Silver Vixen had an unexpectedly quiet afternoon. We are obviously waiting for the results of Urban-Cub's PCR, but suspect that Christmas plans will have to change... and the Gorse Fox will need a further trip to the shops. At least Urban-Cub was able to get all her shopping for the holiday period, though we could pick up anything she needs while isolating.
