Improving

 Ellie had a better night last night. She still had a few boughts of coughing but essentially slept well until just after seven. She still cannot return to school and must remain at home until she gets the (negative) results of her PCR test.

The Gorse Fox went along to the school at the usual time so that he could collect the homework that Ellie would have received. We spent the morning working through the phonetics, drawing the letters and spelling simple words before moving on to simple counting and arithmetic. This seemed to stimulate her and she powered through a load of online exercises. She did very well.

During the afternoon, Ellie and the Silver Vixen made some gingerbread biscuits until Urban-Cub got back from work. Normally we would expect Ellie to go off to Pistol Pete for the weekend at this point. He, however, said that because of her unknown Covid status, he couldn't have her. It would, apparently, mean he would have to isolate for 10 days before returning to work. Everyone else having to adjust their plans, Urban-Cub took Ellie home for dinner then brought her back to us for the night as she has an early start in the morning. She is expecting to be finished by mid-morning, though, so should pick Ellie up then.
