Not a clue

The Gorse Fox pottered about this morning, He was distracted. He was thinking of the little challenge set by the blog extractor yesterday. How could this best be solved, without a massive rewrite? Slowly ideas began to form. Some were dismissed, others were promoted because of their ease and simplicity. When he got time he would have to experiment with a few lines of code to see which would work best. He would return to this later. Ellie required a playmate, and the Gorse Fox was chosen!

The Silver Vixen and Urban-Cub did some tidying in the garden. This prompted a request for us to join the green waste collection scheme run by Arun with Biffa. We signed up. This meant we would get a new bin for garden waste which would be collected every second week.

After lunch the Gorse Fox, Urban-Cub, and Ellie walked to Sainsbury's. We needed some bread, a joint for the weekend, and some food for Jasper. By taking Ellie's buggy we had transport for the shopping on the return leg.

The Gorse Fox retired to the study. Lines of code were cut and tried. Ideas were shown against the wall to see if they'd stick. Progress was definite. He then wanted to check something about the way the old code ran. He logged in to "peregrine" and triggered the code. It ran through without incident. He ran it several more times. Each time it ran without incident. Whatever had stopped it running yesterday was now fixed. He suspects that this was something in Google rather than in "peregrine" as no changes have been applied in the intervening hours. The pressure is off. (That doesn't mean he'll stop thinking about a better approach, it's just that there is no hurry to get it done).
