The Gorse Fox invested some Premium Bonds in Ellie's name and in so doing set up an account for her. All of the details have now come through... so the Gorse Fox and the Silver Vixen were gearing up to set up a Standing Order to make a regular investment.

Nah!

Apparently it doesn't work like that. In order to protect against money laundering, we cannot set up a Standing Order for a child's account if the child is under 16. We either have to pay online with a debit card every month, or send a cheque (yes, a cheque - how quaint is that?).

Positively anti-diluvian... in fact almost as backward as US Banking. Now the Gorse Fox will have to set up a monthly reminder so he doesn't forget to make the deposit.
