Well it's been an industrious little morning. A leisurely start was followed by a rush of blood to the head and the Gorse Fox decided that he would mount the shelves in the sewing room. Careful measurements were taken for height and position then the instructions checked (yes, the Gorse Fox reads instructions - occasionally). He hadn't got the exact fittings recommended so headed off to Screwfix. They too were deficient in the wall plug area, but the Gorse Fox had spotted a very similar plug which looked like an even better bet. Purchases clutched in hand he returned home and continued the little project. Holes were drilled, levels checked and more holes were added. The new plugs were inserted and the frames mounted. Shelves were attached and voila the Silver Vixen now has two perfectly level, very secure shelves on the opposite wall to where they used to be.
The Gorse Fox is very satisfied with these new multi-purpose wall plugs (made by Fischer). They seem to adapts to virtually any type of wall through compression or expansion as the screws are tightened. He'll certainly use them again.
We are expecting Trevor, the man that does the shutters and blinds, to visit on Thursday so that we can select the right blackout blind and he can measure up. We're so close to having the room finished.
