Fixtures and fittings

Bitterly cold night last night, but lovely and cosy indoors.

Most of the morning was taken up with our friend Trevor who came to measure up for the new blind in the sewing room. It always takes a while because he is such a nice bloke and we end up chatting. He also had a new range of blinds and that meant that the Silver Vixen had a choice to make. The choice was muddled by the fact that Urban-Cub was here and between them there was a lot of coming and going with various swatches. Eventually a choice was made and the Gorse Fox paid his deposit. Trevor went away and we now have to wait for the delivery and fitting.

Talking of fixtures and fittings the door on our "slide and hide" Neff oven has failed. It neither slides nor hides. It just sits open and jammed. Needless to say it is just outside the warranty period. The Gorse Fox has had to arrange for a Neff engineer to come in on Monday to fix the problem This will cost a chunk of money... and John Lewis have suggested that they may make a contribution if it does end up costing us. The Gorse Fox is particularly miffed because if the warranty ran from the day it was delivered (which, after all, is logical) it would only be a week out of warranty. But no! Neff run the warranty from the day the order was submitted... which for us was the start of December 2016. The Gorse Fox is not a happy bunny.
