Cranbrook Windmill

Cranbrook was famous for its broad cloth. The windmill was used in the cloth production. The mill still dominates the skyline. Also in the foreground you can see the white boarded houses that are so common in theis are of the High Weald.

Gorse Fox got talking to a painter working on one of the houses. He explained that to keep the houses looking decent they need to be redecorated every 4 years. Not a maintenance load GF would relish.
