Drifts

It was cold again overnight. The temperatures remained around -1C through most of the day. When the Gorse Fox opened up the shutters he could see that we da been hit by a significant blizzard (as evidenced by the attached photo).

Obviously, with snow this thick we are awaiting snow ploughs to clear the roads. We put on our winter weather gear and took Ellie round to Dizzy Ducklings.

Back home, after a coffee, the Gorse Fox set about dismantling an old double-wardrobe. This has freed up further space in the Silver Vixen’s sewing room. The wardrobe came apart remarkably smoothly and is now nestling in the Orangery awaiting sale or disposal (we haven’t decided which yet).

We waded through the snow, by now it was nearly a millimetre thick in places, and went to collect Ellie. We have spent much of the afternoon playing her version of “pass the parcel”. This has no resemblance to any game we had played when we were young, with the exception of music that started and randomly stopped. There was no parcel. There was no wrapping. There was, however, a series of bowls containing Pom-poms that we had to pass round... and stop when the music did. That was it.
