It had been very cold overnight. In fact, in parts of Scotland it was the coldest night for 25 years. Down here one the south coast it was only a couple of degrees below, but it was enough to create an impressive layer of frost on the Orangery roof.
Urban-Cub brought Ellie round before 08:00 as she had to get to work by 08:30. It all started well enough, but Ellie didn't wake at her normal time, so Urban-Cub had to bring her round in her dressing gown, still half asleep. She then set off for work, only to find that the A27 was closed and she had to find a diversion. In the end, her 25 minute journey took her well over the hour.
After the obligatory Ocado delivery, the Gorse Fox found himself on Ellie's bedroom floor doing a jigsaw with her. Then, when the Silver Vixen was ready and could take the handover, the Gorse Fox prepared to go to Sainsbury's. In the end, the take-over never occurred as Ellie decided she wanted to tag along. The trip wasn't quite as smooth as it might have been. Not because of Ellie, but because the Smart Shop app didn't seem to work. The only solution should have been shutting the app and restarting. That didn't work as it would not allow the Gorse Fox to log back in. This was all very fine, but the app also contained his shopping list. In the end he had to use the magic wand and his memory of the list. He managed to recall about half of the items on the original list. He was, however, disappointed that they had none of the cat food that Jasper likes. (Fortunately, we have another 9 days supply at home).
This afternoon, the Silver Vixen and Ellie have been making cup cakes. They used a recipe from one of the Bake-Off winners and the Gorse Fox must admit that the results were delicious.
