St Mary's Farm & Moon's Corner

Walking down Stanmer Down (past Moon's Bottom) this little idyll nestled at the end of the path. This cluster of houses surrounds St Mary's Farm.

Up at Moon's Corner there are number of old ruins with flint walls (but sneaking behind the flint was some classic brickwork).

The Gorse Fox's original route was to take him up to Ballmer's Farm from here, but when he got to the marked track, he found it was Private Access... and being a decent sort of chap (with an aversion to farmers with guns and vicious dogs) he decided to head up over Waterpit Hill instead.

On Waterpit Hill the Gorse Fox was able to look back across the landscape he had just crossed or was just about to cross (The Gorse Fox remembers where he took the photo, but not the direction he was looking when taking it - mmm, what was he saying about dementia yesterday?).

Waterpit Hill provide a good view down over the back of St Mary's Farm. But behind the Gorse Fox, Ballmer Hill hid the site of an old Medieval Village which he had intended to visit.
