GF is fully supportive of improvements to public transport.
Then the article blows it...
"Current legislation offers very limited powers for pricing on the trunk road network outside of the area of a local scheme.
"We are considering pilots on the trunk road network as an important stage towards national road-pricing."
The trunk road network? Excuse me! Just how many jouneys that use the trunk road (or motorway network) outside of urban areas do you think are unnecessary. How many people get in their cars to drive a couple of hundred miles across country for the fun of it?
This is nothing to do with congestion. This is another tax to fill the ever larger hole in Gordon Brown's budget.
