Another delightfully gentle start to the day. Once breakfast was done, Diane wanted to spend some time in the garden, and I returned to the study and my little brain teaser from yesterday.
I had decided to strip everything out and restart. I checked everything with ChatGPT and slowly rebuilt the system. I soon hit problems, and as each one was reported, I received the "Oh yes, that's because..." type of response. If AI is so smart, why didn't it get it right the first time? Bit by bit, I edged towards success.
I stopped at lunchtime to go out for a walk, listen to my book, and grab something to eat.
I returned to the problem. By mid-afternoon, it was working, and I will experiment for a few days to see if it will really be useful or not. If not, I'll strip it back out.
Some kids have "liberated" some shopping trolleys and were using them as go-carts last night. When they finally ran off, the trolleys were dumped in the hedges. Ellie pointed them out to me. I have dragged them out of the hedges and reported them to a company that collects them.
