It has been a fabulous day. The temperature hasn't been silly, but the sun has shone throughout the day.
The Gorse Fox even opened up the bifold doors on the Orangery before breakfast this morning. Had he been wearing something other than his PJs, he would probably have sat out in the garden to enjoy his morning coffee. We have had the rill pump switched on and the gentle tingling of the water throughout the day has been so relaxing. The Silver Vixen spent time pottering in the garden. The Gorse Fox returned to the family tree.
The family tree, as sometimes is the case, was a bit tragic today. The Gorse Fox was looking at two parts of the family; one had moved from Cambridgeshire to Derby, the other had gone to Australia on an assisted passage. The family that went to Derby had 8 children, 4 of whom died within a year of birth. Another was involved in a traffic accident and killed when her bike was in collision with a bus. The family that went to Australia saw one of their daughters marry and move to New Zealand. There she gave birth to her first son, became pregnant again within months, then lost her husband in a mining accident, all in the same year. "Lucky" was not their middle name!
Spurs have won their final game of the season. Despite being 2-0 up at half time, the Gorse Fox never took it for granted that they couldn't still cock things up. They didn't. The final score was 5-0... and that sees them finish 4th in the League and should assure them a place in the Champions League next season. Better still, they came above the Forces of Darkness (Arsenal)... again.
