It's a big day, today. Today, Ellie reaches the grand old age of four. We're not expecting a telegram from Her Majesty, but with the timely releasing of some lockdown conditions today, there is a little party planned.
Urban-Cub has gone to town, so to speak. She has arranged for a company to set up a soft-play zone in her garden.
This to wait until after Dizzy Ducklings, though.Urban-Cub and the Gorse Fox escorted the Birthday Girl (wearing her party dress) to pre-school. Then left them to it.
The Silver Vixen spent the morning with Urban-Cub making sure everything was set and ready for the mayhem that would ensue.
At lunchtime, the Gorse Fox and Silver Vixen went round to Dizzy Ducklings to collect a little band of children and escort them all back to the party. It was like herding cats. Some ran ahead, some dragged behind, one fell over and needed comforting. Somehow, we all made it back safely, and without mislaying any children.
As soon as they say the bouncy castle and soft play area, they were gone. Charging about, up the slide, down the slide, bouncing on the "stage", and wallowing in the ball pit. it was a huge success and all of the kids played nicely and enjoyed themselves. There were no tantrums, no tears, no shouting; just good cheerful, happy children.
Urban-Cub has set a precedent. How she will top this next year will be interesting to see.
