The started as a typical Thursday. Ocado arrived with the main delivery and then we popped to Sainsbury's for the top-up.
At lunchtime, we met with Jane, Trevor, Urban-cub, and Ellie at The Oystercatcher. The plan was to have some lunch and then return home for some tea and cake. Now that Trevor has retired, arranging things for during the day is easier.
Service was incredibly slow, but Ellie behaved impeccably throughout. She was a bundle of joy as she chuckled, laughed, and teased.
As time wore on, glaciers melted, continents drifted apart, and black holes consumed stars Trevor retrieved Ellie's Birthday present from the car to keep her occupied until the next course arrived. To be fair, the food was excellent. We all enjoyed our various selections... and now that we are retired (well, not Urban-cub but she was on holiday) the long wait was not an issue.
We returned home and were soon joined by Darren. The kettle went on, then went on again, and continued to go on for a couple of hours. We had a lovely time and it was a shame when it all broke up.
