Urban-cub was due at the Regional Centre so Ellie was dropped off soon after 7:00. We followed the usual protocol but just as we were about to leave for school, Ellie announced that she wasn't happy with the Velcro fasteners on her shoes. The Silver Vixen swung into action and some double-sided tape was employed to control the Velcro fastening. Then Ellie was unhappy that the emblem on the shoe strap was no longer in the middle of her foot when she did the straps up tightly. The Gorse Fox was bereft. How could he go on when the emblem needed to be more central?
Ellie went to school with asymmetric shoe straps.
During the morning we had to collect the groceries for tomorrow's birthday party. Ellie is 6 next week and tomorrow we have a party for her class. Well, the Gorse Fox says "her class" but having been presented with 8 crates of food when we arrived at Tesco, the Gorse Fox suspects that Urban-cub has also invited all of the parents and relations of Ellie's class, along with 2 Brigades from the British Army, and a complete squadron from the Royal Air Force.
Once Ellie had been collected from school and we had managed to smuggle her into the house through various tunnels we had dug through the mountains of party food, we sat down and encouraged her to do her homework.
Urban-cub called in. We had a 3D model of the number 6 to create. This was a kit that required patience and a hot-melt glue gun. It must have taken us the best part of an hour, but eventually, the frame was made and tomorrow it will be filled with balloons. It goes without saying that the Gorse Fox teased Ellie that we had the wrong number and it was a 9. She rolled her eyes (Grandpa was so proud) and pointed out that it was upside down.
