Paint and Glue

Ellie slept through until 6:15 when she needed a trip to the bathroom. She went back to bed, but at 6:30 when her nightlight turned yellow she pattered into our room and leapt into bed between us. After about ten minutes she started to fidget and soon after the Gorse Fox decided it was time to get up. We went through the usual regime and Ellie was ready for school early. This gave her time for a board game with grandpa... which we were still playing when Urban-Cub arrived. We walked `Ellie round to school and went our separate ways. It was the Urban-Cub'c day off but whilst feeling a little better, she was still suffering a bit.

The Silver Vixen had a day out planned. She and her friend were meeting up at West Dean gardens for a day of wandering around, chatting, drinking tea, and taking photos. The Gorse Fox waved goodbye and then got on with his plans. He quickly drew up a rough outline of the new panel for the man-cave; did some estimating and wrote a shopping list. B&Q was the next stop. Some 3.5mm ply and some 15mm ply was dropped onto the trolly along with some battening and some quadrant. Spray primer and spray paint completed the purchase. Now the Gorse Fox just had to go and created something. The garage was converted back into a workshop and the fun commenced.

Like all projects, it took longer than expected. In fact, the Gorse Fox has not finished. The panel has been cut to size and painted (two coats). Also, the semi-enclosed shelf for the broadband router has been constructed with the help of Gorilla glue contact adhesive. It too has been primed but there is no top coat yet. The Gorse Fox always forgets to factor in the curing or drying times for glue and paint. A French cleat is on order to hang the panel, but that won't arrive until tomorrow.
