Well the flight finished without incident. We were met by our VIP Guide at the exit from the plane and escorted through passport control and on to baggage collection, customs, and the Lounge. Very slick. The only delay was in collecting the suitcases, but you get used to that.
Our driver turned up in a brand new 5-Series BMW to provide us with personal VIP transfer to the resort - some two hours away. (The Gorse Fox noted that the car had all of the optional extras fitted - even the indicators). The back seat was primed with some canapes, and he had a fridge with water, beers, juices, and wine. One could get used to travelling like this.
Arrival at the resort was just as slick. Porters emptied the car, glasses of champagne were pressed on us and we were introduced to our butler. He, in turn, took us to our room and gave us the run down on the features, how to call him, and where our in-room bar was. Seemed pretty comprehensive.
We set out to explore. By now it was dark so we were fairly limited. It is a small resort so it didn't take long. We wandered back to the bar known as The Wobbly Peacock and settled down with a rum, a steak baguette (between us) and enjoyed the warm evening and the gentle jazz. Perfect.
