Battening down

Strong winds and heavy rain are forecast for overnight and Saturday.  As the day has worn on, the winds have indeed got stronger and stronger. They have been battering away at the Orangery and sweeping the bifold doors open and closed as we had them partly open.  It's getting to a stage that we will have to close them completely and finish battening down the hatches. The forecast is serious enough that a number of major events have been cancelled - including Saturday's Chilli Fiesta at West Dean.

Cousteau-cub seemed a little better again today. She was able to stand at work yesterday and this helped a great deal. Apparently, her employer has called in their furniture chap to see if he can quote for a proper adjustable desk so that she can raise it to a comfortable level without propping things on books and boxes.

The Gorse Fox popped in to see Two Hats. We needed to complete the setup of his Raspberry Pi, which we had started last weekend. It only took about ten minutes to get things running how he wanted.

We are expecting J&T to drop in for tea later. We've invited them to stay for some fish and chips, but are not yet sure if they will have time.
