Yesterday was Ladies' Day at Goodwood. The Gorse Fox and Silver Vixen headed into Chichester for dinner and when we arrived we felt as if we were interlopers at some huge wedding. Ladies and gentlemen, dressed in their finery, wandered the streets of Chichester as they progressed from bar to bar or restaurant. We were decidedly underdressed for the evening in comparison with the erstwhile racegoers.
As we were a bit early, we had a sneaky drink in Trents' before moving on to Cote Brasserie. As usual, our meal was excellent and our server was absolutely charming. The Siver Vixen started with a Prawn Gratinée which she followed with the Fish Parmentier with a tomato salad. The Gorse Fox went for their August Specials menu and started with Tuna Carpaccio followed by Hake Piperade. The food was wonderful and it was a very lovely evening.
When we had finished we took a leisurely stroll down South Street to the bus station and hopped on the bus back home. Within fifteen minutes were settling down in our living room for a quiet evening.
