The various items purchased from Abba yesterday are now constructed or installed as the case may be. GF is only marginally satisfied with the floating shelves. They float, by whilst perfectly horizontal from side to side, they do droop just slightly from front to back. This seems to be an endemic problem with these shelves - GF has never seen one that didn't droop. He may, however, have just thought of a cure for this, but as it means some minor modification to the shelves, he will ponder it for a while.
We are still trying to decide on what trees to plant in the garden... and what covering we will use to mask the fence. Current favourites are cryptomeria, and acer for the the trees, and cotoneaster for the fence.
We currently have the pleasure of listening to a neighbour cutting stone slabs and playing his Rod Stewart album at a volume that would be more appropriate to the Isle of Wight Festival.
