(Have you any idea how hard it is to come up with all these titles beginning with X?)Climbing the hill can't see the castle, which is hidden by the shops and houses that hug the castle walls. Once near the top, however, the size of the Castle keep becomes apparent.
Later, when we went for a drive, we followed the walls for miles - giving some idea of the sheer size of the Castle's grounds.
It's a shame they are not staying for longer as it would be nice to show them round inside.
