The Gorse Fox and Silver Vixen hit Brighton. It's an easy 30 minutes on the train, and saves the problem of parking.
Bright, but grey clouds kept threatening light rain, but only a few drops came of it.
The first task was to assault the shops in a afurther attempt to find the right outfit for the Silver Vixen.
The Churchill Shopping Mall was no use, so we hit The Laines. After several abortive trips into various shops we found Coast.
This was obviously going to require some time, and some serious consideration. Gorse Fox decided it was time to call in reinforcements, and phone Cousteau-cub. (Luckily she lives onl a few doors away, and was there within minutes to give her considered opinion. A choice had been made. The Silver Vixen was happy.
We headed off down to the beach to a gallery that is favoured by Cousteau-cub.
With her birthday approaching, it seemed like a good time to get some inspiration for a present. His work is really appealing and GF can see why C-c would like a sample in her flat.
The idea of lunch loomed large as we left the beach. C-c recommended a wine bar called The Courtyard. Continuing the al fresco theme for the week we sat iutside with a fine glass (or two) of wine and a light lunch.
Lunch over, we headed back towards the square (picture above). This was home to Crabtree & Evelyn and L'Occitaine, as well as several shoe shops.
A pause around the scents, and then in each of the shoe shops got us to a point that C-c had found a pair of shoes for the wedding. The Silver Vixen was not so lucky. Gorse Fox stood outside in the sunshine watching the world go by!
Finally we headed up to the North Laines and wound our way along the narrow roads, past the boutiques, new age outlets, tattoo parlours, smoothie bars, record shops and so forth.
A brief pause here, and dive into a store there, a few "ooohs!" and "Look at this" and we were at the road that led to the station.
We bid adieu to C-c (who has lost her voice) and headed back.
A pleasant day before heading back to work tomorrow.
