Gorse Fox has blogged before about Esteemed Client's canteen.

Always a source of inspiration Gf headed for the canteen at lunchtime. On arrival there was queue of two people waiting to be served. No staf were in sight.
"Ahh! they must be preparing some food, or replenishing some of the serving dishes."
After all it was the middle of the luch hour. Eventually, the second person in the line pressed the bell. As if by magic the staff appeared. They served person one, and person two. The Gorse Fox was next and took the last slice of quiche. Stoker followed:
"Slice of quiche, please". quoth he.
"Sorry, none left. All that's left is the stew in red wine" quoth the helpful food operative

This gave rise to the following qustions in the Gorse Fox's mind:
  1. It was the middle of the lunch period, why were they not watching for customers?
  2. If they were busy round the back, why had they run out of all but one menu option?
  3. If they were busy, why could GF not hear the clatter of cutlery, crockery or saucepans?
  4. Is entry into the canteen like entering the dead zone?
