Driving back to Sussex, GF had to marvel at one of the finest and most protracted sunsets he's ever seen.
Shades of pink started to invade the sky as he climbed Air Ballon Hill near Cheltenham. As he raced south over the Cotswolds the colours became more vivid. By Swindon they were looking stunning. Eastbound along the M4 they were hard to pick out due to the flood of headlights filling the rear-view mirrors; but even though it was dark when heading down the A34 towards Winchester there was a deep red stain across the night sky.
Never seen anything quite like it. Uplifts the spirit.
