Romans

We had an early start to greet Ellie when she was dropped off. She had only just woken up and took a few minutes to click into gear. As schooltime was approaching, I checked around: school bag, packed lunch, water bottle, trainers, coat - oops, she had left her coat at home and didn't have one here. I grabbed my jacket and walked around to get her coat - and as it turned out, just in time. By the time I was back home and Ellie was ready for school, the rain had started. In fact, by the time we got there, it was torrential. That put paid to my pre-breakfast walk.

Diane finished her breakfast and then headed off to the hairdresser. I stayed home and spent the morning researching some aspects of the ooRexx language, which I then coded to check that I had understood what I had read. I have another area I wish to research, and the weather forecast for the next few days implies that I may have plenty of time! If everything works how I suspect it will, I may rewrite the code I finished the other day, just as a mental exercise.

Lottie was here during the morning. This week, she was concentrating on upstairs while I hid at the kitchen table with my MacBook.

When Di got back (her hair looked lovely), we headed straight to Sainsbury's to do a belated weekly shop. It was a good time to shop. The zombies had all been collected and reburied somewhere. The shop was pleasantly quiet. We were in and out quickly, then settled back home for a bite to eat.

There wasn't any Kindle time, as I only had about 20 minutes before going to collect Ellie from school. When she got back, she settled with Nana to start preparing a project about what the Romans did in their leisure time. I helped with the odd bits of research and printing.
