Tracking or Trekking

It's been a grey day, windy and cool. There was nothing on the agenda so we just pottered. The Silver Vixen was concentrating on her latest sewing project and the Gorse Fox was at the computer.

The thing about investments is that they need to grow. Putting money into most savings accounts doesn't really cut the mustard as growth is glacially slow. The Gorse Fox has spent a lot of today reading up on various investment options, bond portfolios, trackers, funds, and heavens knows what else. Most of these seem to outperform standard savings accounts over time. Now, the Gorse Fox is not a gambler and would not dream of risking our future prosperity, but that doesn't mean that a well thought out, balanced investment is off the table. He just needs to sleep on it and weigh the options against the charges and risks.

Having spent the morning looking at trackers, he decided he needed to stretch his legs. So this afternoon he moved on to trekkers and went for an hour walk. It was just starting to spit with rain as he wandered back through the door.

Two Hats popped in. The Gorse Fox had been extolling the virtues of his Instant Pot when we were out on Thursday. This got Two Hats interested so he came round to find out more. Having done a sales job on him, the Gorse Fox sent him home with the manuals so he can read more about it. He did also offer the recipe books, but that's probably a little premature. It will be interesting to see if he orders one.
