Gorse Fox has a genealogy website for family members across the world. Some are direct relations, others share one of the many variations of the family name, but are still family. It occurred to the GF that providing an RSS Feed would allow the dispersed family to be alerted when changes are made to the website. You're with me so far? Good.
With great dexterity he created an xml file describing the syndication. He then subscribed to it from bloglines, et voila an initial entry appeared. Still with me?
Now the question comes, how does great aunt Ethel, 17th cousin, twice removed, living in the middle of the Nullabor plain click on something on GF's website and thus get the updates... or doesn't she. Does she have to use a RSS reader or aggregator. GF's assumption is the latter... i.e. it only works if she has some tooling or uses someone else's.
