GF would like to write a pithy and considered post regarding the results of last night's election. A post that would go down in history and be quoted by generations to come. However, he can't manage such a display of erudition... all he can say to his fellow countrmen is:

You stupid, ill-educated, credulous, patsies. Please remember when you:

• Pay additional stealth taxes
• Pay huge new National Insurance contributions
• Pay new fuel taxes
• Can't live on your pension
• Have to sell your house to survive you old age
• Have the checks and balances of government dismantled
• Have the legal system changed to remove the rights of trial by jury
• Have to carry an ID card, and have to pay the government to get the ID card
• Sign up for the EU Constitution
• Are not allowed to debate changes to the constition
• Hear your government make statements that are materially incorrect (downright lies)
• Continue to see the unelected Alistair Campbell pulling the strings at Downing Street
• Have planning laws that protect our towns and cities overturned
• Have houses built over green belt land
• Have no roads, schools, or other infrastructure to serve the new houses
• Have no say on local affairs as your rights have been usurped by an unelected Regional Authority
• See John Prescot

It's time for the GF to go sit in a darkened room... but he would like to know the actual percentages of the votes that went to each party, because looking at the BBC election map (which is predominantly blue) one suspects that margins would be tighter that expected. The consolation in that might be that we have less stupid electors than the result implies.
