Serengeti

The heat continues. Again, the temperature has been hovering in the low 30's. At lunchtime a vast herd of wildebeest(*) wandered past the front of the house looking for a watering hole(**). Jasper was intrigued and spent some time deciding whether any of them would make a decent lunch. In the end he yawned, turned over, swished away some flies, and went back to sleep.

Urban-Cub has been out since mid-morning and is not expected back until the morning. G-Force had stepped in to take care of Ellie. We kept her out of the sun and amused and she has been an absolute  charm all day. As the Gorse Fox writes, the Silver Vixen is just giving her a bath. From the study, all the Gorse Fox can hear is laughter and the sound of splashing.

There was an incident a couple of nights ago when several cars were, again, targeted overnight. Again, the perpetrator was caught on CCTV and then caught using the credit cards she had acquired. The police checked the evidence, arrested the perpetrator, and she appears in court tomorrow morning. It is immensely satisfying that the police have acted so swiftly, but unfortunate that the person in question was the same person that attempted to get into our car last year. Clearly, her brief imprisonment was not sufficient deterrent to overcome her habit.

At this time when so many of the "woke left" are so eager to pillory the police, it's nice to be able to provide some support.

(*) That may have been an exaggeration, but there was a chap with a pushchair.

(**) The nearest watering hole is probably the Pink Pub, but they don't serve wildebeest
