The Gorse Fox was in the Surrey Hills first thing. A clear, crisp, and pleasant spring morning made the drive a delight. The early start meant that GF could park on-site rather than somewhere near Wales... and he settled in to his emails and so forth.

First order was a review/report of the project finances... that complete (without let or hindrance) it was on to checking on resources, clearances, and then on again to perform a technical review of a new system. Sounds boring, but it was quite good fun, and the developers had a spark to them and made the review easy.

Management meeting took up much of the core of the day, one bullet from a slide stated "WAR - perfectly acceptable if authorised". GF thought he'd stumbled into a Cabinet Meeting, then realised it was an acronym for "Working At Risk". All of this was followed by long teleconf with colleagues from the North. This was in preparation for a workshop later in the week. At the end of the call GF commented they should book hotel rooms early as there weren't many available in the area this week...
"I'm just looking as we speak. Beacuse of the Cheltenham Festival, there don't seem to be many rooms available." Said the GF

"In that case, can you book some for us" said t' Northerner

"Sure" said the accommodating GF. "How many?"

"Four" said t' man from t' North

"OK" said GF.

And so he did. He booked four rooms. Then on driving home had a Homer Simpson moment
"Doh."

GF hadn't actually booked a room for himself!
