I was up soon after seven. I sat and enjoyed a coffee while reading the overnight news. Jasper was restless and soon indicated that I should open the door for him. Who was I to ignore the request?
Diane came down soon after eight, as I went up for my shower. With ablutions done and breakfast tucked away, we started to (subtly) get bits and pieces together. By mid-morning everything was set and Jasper was dropped into his carrier and we headed off to see the Cat Whisperer. Jasper has a Spa break arranged and we will make the most of the time to take a few days away ourselves.
Back home, I was able to get the suitcases down without causing undo feline stress. Cables were selected, battery boosters were charged, and plug adapters were prepared. The countdown (proper) was underway.
We had some Kindle time after lunch before I started on dinner. The centrepiece was lamb shanks and they were accompanied by most of the vegetables we had left in the fridge. There has been no walk today... but I may have emptied a can or two of beer.
