Ellie was awake by 6:30 and after checking in with the Gorse Fox returned to her room to play with her iPad until we all got up soon after 7:00. It was incredibly wet. Jasper was not interested in going out, and frankly, neither were we. By 8:40, however, the rain had cleared for a while and we were able to walk Ellie to school without getting wet.
Ocado were late with our delivery this morning. The Gorse Fox is not surprised. The traffic conditions are always much worse when there's heavy rain, and it is obvious that the delivery drivers will be affected. Once they had delivered, we got on with the Sainsbury's top-up.
It was soon after we got back that we heard that the PM, Liz Truss, had resigned. It is sad that it had come to this, but she was clearly never up to the job. The Gorse Fox can take solace in the fact that he did not vote for her in the last leadership election. Now we must see who is in the frame for her replacement.
We had a quiet afternoon with our books, and have a quiet evening in plan as Ellie is at home tonight.
