The Gorse Fox has had an interesting day so far. There was some initial admin to get out of the way then he had to concentrate on his website. He had been contacted by someone who wished to have some changes applied. Fine. The Gorse Fox is always happy to amend and correct information. That's where the problems began.
It's several years since he last needed to apply changes to the website. In fact several years and several computers. Even though he had notes explaining what to do, he had clearly misfiled them and they could not be found. It then became a matter of working his way back in. This was hampered by some the security settings that he has applied. It took hours to get to the point that he could edit the pages in question. Eventually it was done.
Or was it?
You see the Gorse Fox had started to rebuild the site a couple of years ago and some elements of the site were rendered in the newer content management system as well as the old html-file based approach. He had to try to get in to the Joomla content manager. Fortunately those notes were easily found and the changes made. He checked the site. Changes weren't there. Hmmmm, there's a step missing somewhere. Sure enough he realised that the last this he should have done was to tick the files and press the "publish" button. That did the trick.
