The forecast said it would be dry and probably bright. The forecast was wrong. It was great and drizzly. This is unusual for a Tuesday when the weather usually smiles on the old lags walking round the football pitch chasing a ball, in vain!
It was good today. The random selection worked in the Gorse Fox's favour and playing for the 'blue-bibs' he managed two wins and a draw. No goals from the Gorse Fox (he couldn't have hit a barn door today) but he defended resolutely and he was pleased with his contribution.
In the second hour there was the usual change of personnel. The Gorse Fox ended up playing for the 'red-bibs'. Again he was on the winning side, again with two wins and a draw. He was doing better in the second hour and though he did have a couple of attempts on goal, one nicked the post, and the other grazed the crossbar. Never mind, it was great fun.
As the Gorse Fox writes this, supper is cooking. Tonight we have a UFO supper. This Unidentified Frozen Object has been sitting in the freezer for about a month, but it seems that the Gorse Fox forgot to write on the container to identify the contents. Only time will tell!
