The Art of StressFree Travel

Gorse Fox believes that travel has a habit of inducing stress. To reduce this, he tends to allow extra time for the planned journey. Today was no different. GF would rather be an hour early at the airport that one minute late. So GF & SV left early, in a taxi to head for Gatwick. Four miles from home the taxi joined a queue of traffic that stretched back across Long Furlong.

Extra time had been allowed for delays, so no problem. Well, that's what we thought. It actually took over 50 minutes to do 2 miles. We were just clearing the queue as Barney Rubble phoned from the airport to ask where we were.

Great start! Never mind, taxi driver made up a little time and we arrived in LGW in soon after check-in opened. Despite the local highways department's efforts they had not prevailed. No stress. Easyjet were a bit late with their flight, but it was comfortable and made up some of the time. In no time we seemd to be there, had checked in to the hotel and were having lunch.
