Oh Dear

Ellie was still too unwell to go to school. She was dropped off here first thing but Cousteau-Cub came along to look after her till early afternoon. She took Ellie back to Urban-Cub's house.

We followed the usual Thursday agenda of shopping then returned home for. some lunch and the Gorse Fox to do the accounts. Early afternoon, Cousteau-Cub dropped Ellie back with us (Cousteau-Cub had to go for her Covid jab). The Gorse Fox took Ellie upstairs to keep her away from the Silver Vixen and we payed teachers for an hour or so until Urban-Cub got back from work to collect her.

Ellie was getting no better and it was decided that it was time to dial 111. Urban-Cub had a long chat with them and then with a local pharmacist (who was as much use as a chocolate fireguard).

Mid evening the phone rang. Could the Gorse Fox take Urban-Cub and Ellie to A&E - Ellie was burning up with fever and being sick. So it was that our little troop zipped off to St Richard's for the next 5 or 6 hours. Because of various hospital protocols the Silver Vixen could stay with Ellie throughout, but the Gorse Fox had to sit a wait in A&E Reception (and what an eye opener that was).

Eventually Ellie was seen and deemed well enough to go home.  The Urban-Cub and Ellie wandered back to reception and Ellie ran to the Gorse Fox and gave hime a big hug. It was the early hours by the time we got home... but sleep was not long coming.
