B&Q Boomerang Effect

There is a phenomenon that the Gorse Fox has discussed in the past. Let's call the B&Q Bounce or B&Q Boomerang. This is the phenomenon whereby it is impossible to do a single trip to B&Q. however well prepared you think you are, there will always be a) something you overlooked, b) something that is the wrong size, or c) something unexpected that crops up.

The Gorse Fox and Silver Vixen went to B&Q. There was a requirement for light bulbs for yesterday's purchase, and also a plan for a new light for the kitchen. After much checking we had the brightness, the wattage, and the screw size sorted for the bulbs - and they were correctly candle-shaped. However, when the Gorse Fox actually tried to fit them, it appears their girth was too great. He went back to the instructions - there was no indication of girth (or diameter) - obviously they expect you to guess. He went through the collection of spare bulbs and found one that would do the job. Thus was triggered the bounce, or boomerang effect as he made his return journey to get the right bulb.

Gorse Fox's legendary skill with electricity was put on display again. Twice during the fixing of the new lights, he managed to trip the circuit breakers on the house. In the end everything is fixed and working, and the Gorse Fox expects no further trips to B&Q today.
