The National Anthem was sung with the normal jingoistic fervour (and the cretin that tried to boo the Slovenian Anthem was silenced by a warning comment from below).The game kicked-off and like most England games ebbed and flowed. The game was only a friendly but started as a lively affair. A dubious penalty in the first half saw England go ahead 1-0, then after half time (and with a significantly different strike force) England went 2-o up with a goal from Jermain Defoe.
The usual complacency and almost insoucience took over towards the end and Slovenia clawed back a goal five minutes from time.
Not a great game - but a fairly competent and bouyed up by the atmosphere (and the win) it was certainly a fine evening's entertainment.
