The route wound down close behind the Chattri Monument toward the A27 at Patcham. Then it turned east and followed a footpath within yards of the trunk road back up towards the Ditchling Road.The illusion of peace that is rendered by this picture (the white dot of the Chattri Monument is just right of centre), was rent by the roar of the traffic.
