The entrance to the site was down a narrow stairway into a seating area where the intrepid visitors stopped for a drink. The space was quite magical, being an old volcanic tube the roof of which had collapsed... se we sat at the bottom of a steep side hole in the ground.
Tpo the east of us, the tunnel continued out under the Atlantic, but to the west was a short section where the tunnel was still intact, and contained a small lake. This lake was an eerie blue (that GF could not pick up with the camera) and was home to some unique, blind, white crabs, no bigger than a thumbnail.
