I was up early to greet Ellie when she was dropped off. She was barely conscious when she came in and needed a long cuddle from Grandpa before she had the energy to go upstairs for a cuddle with Nana. Once she was properly awake, everything kicked into gear. Breakfast, wash, dress, prepare for school and off we went.
I went for my usual walk after the drop-off and got home at about 9:30, just as Diane was about to go out to the hairdresser. I grabbed my usual breakfast and another coffee then started on a pile of ironing. There are items that will be needed for next week, so I waded into the pile. Diane arrived home when I was about halfway through, and with a cup of tea next to her, took over and cleared the backlog.
I went out for another walk before lunch. I was somewhat startled by the twist that was revealed in the audiobook I have been enjoying. It was completely unexpected and has tweaked my interest for the rest of the story.
After lunch, we had our usual Kindle time before going to collect Ellie from school. Being such a lovely warm afternoon, we stopped at the park for a while before bringing her home for a snack before she was collected by Zoe and taken home, ready for Pete to collect her for the weekend.
